Very much so. It’s hard to take in one sitting but it’s quite dandy incrementally.

My guess is those people are DEAD!

The guy who puts all those people in the room and paid them (and took the risk) is what made the thing happen.

Are we talking about Edison...or Steve Jobs? Everyone talks about Siegel and Shuster creating Superman and getting a $400 check for kicking off a bazillion dollar business. But they aren’t the ones who spent millions of dollars and years building a distribution network and printing plants etc. People like stories with

That’s more mystical than real.

Nah, Edison worked hard and had great, creative ideas. Not a saint, just an easy target for the retroactive, contrarian history crowd. Tesla was equally interesting and creative but was bad at implementation and follow up.

“Pointed”? Maybe if you’re in the eight grade.

I thought it was better than a “C+.” It’s dark and weird with a mixture of the Godfather and The Shining.

He didn’t mention race. His somewhat misguided ire was directed at people who eat bats. Those people reside in a whole bunch of places besides China. If the bat-eaters were in New Jersey I don’t think the fine folks of NJ would take offense. Either way, the problem is not eating bats per se, but eating undercooked

Larry Storch was the voice of the magical bird. I asked him about it once and he looked sort of confused.

It’s only a movie. Gilbert Gottfried has been shouting this for years. He even said it to Broderick on his podcast.

The one thing that white privilege gets correct is exiling that word. Others should follow suit. Alternative inflections and skin color are insufficient justifications for its casual usage in any context.

Salad bars seemed to have been cancelled at some point in the mid ‘80s but not everyone got the memo. Even Burger King had a salad bar! I think buffets will figure out some workaround/skullduggery to obey the letter of the law (if not the spirit.)

Troll fail.

There are about a dozen media outlets (VOX, NBC, McCall, Glamour, Fast Company, The Washington Post etc.) circulating lists that group together Louis CK, Weinstein (and yes, Matthews) accusing them of acts ranging in severity from heinous to dubious. Most of them have not been adjudicated and the lists are usually

I don’t have a problem with someone being fired for being creepy.

Damn, those rich people! They don’t even care about the vinyls.

Find the version by Puddles the Clown and Toby Huss and you can thank me later.

The “all inapropriate” in “all inappropriate behavior” is a pretty wide berth. Matthews’ did some crotchety old man stuff. He didn’t do anything illegal. Probably best he’s out of the picture but placing every transgression at the level of Weinstein debauchery will eventually backfire and drown out the voices of

By the logic here, it’s OK to punch people in the face because they make jokes about punching people in the face. Dunham’s a bit hacky but he can land some good jokes. He’s funny. But he’s probably a bit too red state for this room. And I don’t agree with those people either. So they deserve to die. #amirite?
