I find the characterization of "a disgraced music-business executive" as one of "two talents," to be offensive. He's just some marketing hack! People like him belong in ditches, not being lauded as "talent."
I'm not just being snide, but am totally sincere, when I say that this may be the single worst idea for a film I have ever encountered.
Its bigger, louder, longer, more serious & complicated (and expensive). I'm not sure its "better." I think "The Ring" actually worked better as a modest little horror film (like they made in Japan), rather than trying to turn it into a mainstream, big-budget blockbuster.
It didn't help that Siskel was kind of an asshole. I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the Siskel & Ebert pairing going back to being a regular viewer of "Sneak Previews" (on PBS), as early 1979, but Siskel was a pretentious jerk. After he was gone, it was much easier to heap praise on the more likable reviewer,…
Its a big country; you can safely assume a handful of them ARE dying to see it.
Well, in fairness, "Speed 2: Cruise Control" was one of those movies that everyone was so sure sucked, no one actually saw it. So maybe Ebert was right?
No, unless you're totally devoid of all unpleasant emotional responses, you have "issues," and are thus "scary". I learned this through discussions with upper-middle class White people on the internet. Its practically all they have to say, on any topic.
"… there's nothing more horrible than when you're the only one in a group who can see what a lying, dangerous, manipulative sack of shit someone is and everyone else loves them and shuns you for trying to protect them all."
I am bordering on being genuinely disturbed by the existence of people who, while viewing season 2, came to dislike the "Suzanne" character (rather than to feel sorry for a mentally unstable person being maniuplated by someone smarter than she). I'm tempted to simply disregard such foks as being "stupid."
"I think putting less focus on Piper made the entire show a lot more interesting."
I was not a huge fan of season 1 (we mainly watched it because my fiancee wanted to), but season 2 was great. And the final scene was one of the most satisfying moments in recent television history.
Galileo and Bruno were certainly not Atheists.
His best performance was in 1975's "Day of the Locust." An ABSOLUTE must-see, for any film enthusiast, by the way.

Tourism is huge in South Dakota. Not everyone's idea of a vaction is to visit some city filled with the same chain stores as the place where they already reside, I guess. I mean, I like museums and such, but I'm a weirdo.

Yes, he was the Chess-playing best friend of the sympathetic professor (the one who had the misfortune to be married to the comely-but-otherwise-horrifying Adrienne Barbeau character), during the final segment. And we was quite good in it (although that was 32 years ago…the fact that "Creepshow" is 32 years old,…

No person with the slightest familiarity with the plot of Orwell's "1984" would recognize either the Republicans or Democrats in that novel.
