The idea that women can't create humor is particularly idiotic in the context of Adult Swim, since 80% of their schtick seems to be "so unfunny its funny" "antihumor".

I caught that. After hearing them mention the major breakdown 30 years prior I wonder if we'll ever get any direct reference to the events in the film.
I suspect that the Man in Black will turn out to be involved in some manner of corporate espionage, trying to figure out what makes the robots tick and how their programming can be subverted (possibly explaining why he goes for existential dread rather than simple malice).
