It's not perfect, and, yet, they're never done messing with it.

As the original link you referred to reported, the reason that this bad guy continues to get high Google rankings (even though he's now in jail for 4 years, and 3 years after the NYT article was written) is because people are buzzing about how they were ripped off and abused by the company. Posting the URL, not…
Too lazy to take a photo, I've got a $40 Merkur safety razor, a new 10-pack of Feathers that I'm trying out (can't really tell the difference from the Merkur blades that came with my original razor), and a soap/bowl/brush kit my wife got me at Walmart for $10. My father and grandfather both used cheap Bic disposable…
And you actually think that people hyperlinking to sites, which redirect to the sites in question, will stop this from happening? Sure, because nobody has ever tried this before. Totally helps, right?
Don't feel bummed, the show doesn't interest me at all. Still, it must be good, it's gotten a long run on TV, has a huge audience, and won some awards. I can't hate on it for that, I can just admit that it's not my thing.
Maybe once an Airbus starts making trips to the ISS.
Except clicking the link is still going to generate a click for the site. And if they're using Google, Bing or any sort of analytics monitoring of their traffic, that's still going to be fed back into the search engines.
Even if you use this service to post a link to Fox News on Facebook, it's still going to generate a click on Fox News. They may not be able to trace it back to your post on Facebook, but it still gets promoted just the same.
It's "fast by comparison" because processors and RAM have greatly increased their speed and capacity. I bet you can't run the latest version comfortably on a Pentium II from a decade ago. But, other than the bloat, Winamp is still an incredibly good and useful application.
Still not as satisfying as seeing the Space Shuttle touch down, though. :-(
I've tried Opera off-and-on over the many years, never became a fan. I was a solid IE fan up through IE 6, until Firefox 2 finally started delivering a better experience, and I've not looked back. Also flirted with the various WebKit browsers, again, not really impressed.
In the case of the particular retailer that you linked to, the article clearly explains that the reason this scummy reseller's link is so highly ranked isn't because people are linking to the URL, it's because they're discussing the company's name and products, generating more buzz and inadvertently driving up the…
If a site is fraudulent, or if it violates a search engine's policies, it's going to be taken down, anyhow. Otherwise, for those "awful trolling sites", you're still contributing to the trolling by giving them any traffic at all. Again, if it's awful enough that you feel the need to use measures to avoid detection,…
If it's NOT worth visiting, then why promote a tool to where you can visit it? Would it NOT be better to ignore it completely?
If it's a crappy website, why are you visiting it? If a website is worth visiting, then shouldn't it naturally rank higher in search engines that are delivering content that you want to see?
99% of the time, I don't answer the phone, even if I know who it is. If it's vitally important, they'll keep trying to call. If it's not, they'll leave a message and let me know why they called, or they won't.
Telephone services are cheap enough that this won't put a dent into their budgets.
Where would we be? We would literally be in Hell! ;-)
Thank you. There are many times in my life that I could have chosen to become a telemarketer. After thoroughly researching who I would be working for and what I would be doing, I decided to continue looking for a different job. We always have a choice available, it's just a question of what choices are we willing to…
I tried this for a few years, doesn't work. If you're not getting calls, you're just lucky.
