GOOG-411, US Government Search and Google Buzz were quite popular when they were cut off. They shut down Meebo almost as soon as they bought them, and iGoogle will be shut down in November.

Sorry, Rob, it's still a legitimate complaint. Google's propensity to axe projects is becoming nearly as bad as Yahoo.

Over the last few months I've come upon more and more instances where Google Translate has failed to translate documents in Spanish, German and Russian. I've permanently switched over to Bing Translate.

Another idea I've not seen, a slide-in dock for your MP3/MP4 player with replaceable connector tips so you can easily transfer files without cables or other docks cluttering your desk? Not seen one in production, but surely can't be that hard to make and run into an unused USB or FireWire port on your motherboard.

OOH! Great place to store my OS CDs, so i don't keep losing them! Great find!

That would actually be a great option for me, to just have a simple micro PC to run Skype and a few audio apps for live podcasts.

I understand most of the complaints against the projector, but I'm surprised nobody has though of suggesting a portable projection screen that rolls up and stores out of the way, in a corner, or even hang it off some wall space by the handle?

Install a Murphy bed (pulls out from the wall) with a table or desk that folds underneath it, build your storage you need for your tools and supplies around it.

This is one of my favorite space hacks!

Sure, this is a "weird law", until somebody who doesn't move over kills a cop helping a stranded motorist.

This isn't about what Groklaw can or cannot do legally.

First, I think the recent "estimates" for the cost for owning and operating a car is highly inflated. I live in a state with higher than average insurance rates, higher than average gas costs, and my job is 100% commuting anywhere from 30-120 miles round trip, and my costs are MAYBE $5000/year.

Funny enough, I chimed in on the last article discussing why I had also cut cable TV, and the last two weeks I've been staying with my mother, who has Brighthouse. MY GOD the programming has gone downhill. As noted, I can't watch Discovery or History channels anymore, too much crap. Most of these channels it is all

Ditto, also a lot of services missing from my area (eastern KY).

While I didn't dislike Episode II, this guy's ideas make sense and would make a good film. My only quibbles are...

The wonderful thing about being a Sith Master is that you can make up the rules as you go along. Seriously, who can complain? :D

You're not alone, just in a small minority, apparently. I also liked all the movies. I wasn't even turned off by Jar-Jar Binks. He wasn't a slick butt-kicking machine like almost every character in episodes 4-6, but he had his place.

Do you know what is more shaky than Straight Pride UK's takedown request? This entire article. First, Mr. Aguilar cries about the abuse of DMCA and how this supposed journalist is "powerless", but apparently has not actually read the law at all. DMCA specifically has a provision to challenge such takedowns. Second,

Thank you for pointing this out. I don't understand how the author can say that this journalist is "powerless" when the law very clearly states what steps he can take.

Or, use suction cups or earth magnets and build a mount.
