We can’t keep trusting Google to keep our information private. They will suck up anything they can and use it to make more money.

I would certainly not trust Google with my data. Even if they say they will delete it! The best way is to stop using Google. On my phone I installed /e/ OS, it is Googleless Android, running android apps but not sending data to Google. If you want privacy this is the way to go.
