Raising the minimum wage would have that mother lose one, or likely both, of her current jobs. A federal minimum wage is impossible because the cost of living in NYC is far different from that in Idaho.

Did I misinterpret the opening scene? I didn't view it as Chuck being upset with Jimmy leaving the room, I saw it as the two hating each other so much that Chuck felt he could grimace when Jimmy did go off for sandwiches, and that he enjoyed holding their mother mentioning Jimmy's name from his brother forever.
