I do agree with your points on the question of how much to put down, but there is another aspect as it relates mostly to new cars. When it comes to dealers offering 0-1% interest rates there are some more factors to consider and I follow this method if I know a rate like that is available.

When is GM going to just clean house on the entire interior design department? While the dash and plastics certainly look nicer than prior, it just looks like they took the theme of a 90's GM dash and perfected it with modern techniques and materials.

Two trims and a 60% price increase to the higher? I guess this effectively happens on other vehicles, but there are more trims in between to get you up the ladder.  It just doesn’t mentally line up for what moves the price between classes but doesn’t seem to move the car a full class.
