As a white guy who had a sexist and racist dad growing up I find myself fighting against that programming very often. I call bullshit on anyone claiming they’ve now been totally cured or whatever. That old shit is still in your head and needs to be actively contained.

After having had several long conversations with the latter group in recent weeks it’s clear they’re just somewhat smarter and more manipulative than the former. They want to claim to argue from a base of respectability but still portray transwomen as rapists and transmen as victims of misogyny.

Like most sensible people, I haven’t read Gladwell in 10+ years, but find myself wondering: Is he a genuinely lazy and unclear thinker, or is he an intelligent opportunist who knows there is money to be made by appealing to lazy, unclear thinkers?

I grew up in State College, I went to school with Sandusky’s kid, the one in prison for soliciting minors. I’ve been in Sandusky’s basement.
