Is anyone other than myself ready to by the car as it sits now and try to transfer all the undamaged parts to a donor car?

This isn't evidence from the court case of the guy who while having sex in his back seat, while intoxicated, while driving down the highway at 85 miles per hour, managed to crash his car you guys posted a few days ago, is it?

I would just park it in a port in a country with no extradition treaty with the original owner's country. If I am going to go out of my way to steal millions and millions of dollars worth of boat, cars and/or money, I am gonna go somewhere warm, with great roads, and no extradition.

My father has no skills past minor repairs on a garden tractor, adding line to a weed wacker, and changing his own oil (which I have seen him do twice in my lifetime). My kids, be the next one a girl or not, will know how to swap motors. I taught myself how to work on cars and finished up my mechanical career working…

As an ex-army 63A (Abrams Tank Systems Maintainer), I have to agree. But even with the all three of the tanks maxed out 507 gallons fuel, at 3MPG you will still have to stop two or three times and filling up 500 gallons takes cash and time...lots of time.

Gotta be a 3500 Ram w/ Cummins diesel and an auxilery gas tank in the bed. I would drive straight through without gas pit stops.

Yup. I can take some cars modded. I even admire rat rods with a lustful passion akin to those photos of cute but tattooed up "bad girl" chicks you see floating around the interwebs...but this is just horrible. There are some things you can do to a VW Thing...this is not one of them.
