@Secant: Whaaaat? Maybe I missed the sarcasm, but I actually found his tip helpful. I wouldn't have thought to check a home-brewing store for bottle brushes.

I really don't understand why they modified the navigation on the left. "Mail" is kind of a vague term. Why not call it, uh, Inbox, since that's where it goes. Also, why is the compose mail button big and ugly and now lower in the menu. I wonder if Google does any usability studies before they roll out changes.

@MrYdobon: Haha, I decided to focus on becoming a better golfer this summer. I've been going out once or twice a week and it has really been great. I've recently worked my way down into the 48-49 range after being in the 52-53 range for most of the summer. But then yesterday I shot a 59 with a 10 on a par 5. Stupid

I bought some great new shoes last night and just wore them today for the first time...without socks.

@jhoeforth: 1) The conversation view is not as intuitive as Gmail's. It took me about a minute to figure out how to use it in Gmail. In this new Hotmail, it took me a while to figure out if messages were in ascending or descending order, and each message wasn't clearly defined.

I was really looking forward to this, but overall it feels clunky and, well, just not as good as Gmail.

@OrtensiaAgricola: I actually did find one of the FLACs I wanted on waffles.fm, but I don't have a log in unfortunately.

What's the best source for FLACs aside from the usual torrent sites? I'm looking for a few different albums in FLAC format and can't find them anywhere. Seems like there'd be a big site dedicated to FLAC.

@pixelsnader: As a healthy young man with a decent amount of savings to cover my deductible if I get sick or injured, I'm willing to stick with the catastrophic plan for a while longer. Believe you me, I'd love to have great coverage again, but it's damn expensive through work compared to what my current plan costs

I have a catastrophic insurance plan, so whenever I have routine visits or tests, I have to pay everything myself. With blood work, paying early over the phone gets me 40% off. For office visits, I get 25% off if I pay the day of my visit (had to learn that one the hard way when I tried to pay over the phone after

@TheFu: Usually when you're writing a post, there will be a field for trackbacks.

@TheFu: Are you talking about trackbacks? I have no idea what a talkback is. If you have trackbacks turned on, you'll be notified when someone links to one of your blog posts from their blog. The notification will appear above or below the comments on the post they linked to and will usually include a link back to

@dragonskin: Thanks for your story. Was your injury in the upper or lower back?

@Phoshi: I learned that I can only undertake one big task at a time, whether it's important or not. For example, a few weeks ago I started sorting through my baseball cards from 20 years ago. I also need to pick out new glasses, look for a new car, and buy new underwear because the kind I've always worn is different

@dragonskin: I'm 30. I've only injured my back one time—I was carrying something really heavy and did something to my upper back that has never completely gone away. The doctor told me it sounded like a sprain. I've never had lower back pain, and none of the pain in my leg comes from my back. I never feel anything in

About once a week, my entire left leg will fall asleep while walking. It only seems to happen when I'm walking fast, and it only seems to happen only when I walk in the grocery store (sounds weird I know)! Yesterday I had the worst experience ever, where I felt like my leg might actually give out because it was so

@maagou: Steve? Is that you?

@bdinger: So how'd she become a millionaire?

@Joshua L Lewis: Good to meet you, my fellow simple-living friend. :)
