I my unemployment I signed up on Care.com to do general housework/errand running/etc. A local mom contacted me through it, and now I’m getting paid to sort/fold her laundry, help her decorate, and get her house organized.  I got lucky and booked with a family that can afford as much of me as they want, so I work

Bonus - everything is already on hangers and faster to put away when it’s dry.  This is how I do it.

1,000 times this, especially with cars. It doesn’t cost much to do regular maintenance on my car (even cheaper if I learned to DIY), and over its 10 years and 117k I’ve spent all of $500 on unscheduled repairs. My friends who can’t bother with the inconvenience or “expense” of transmission or a/c services inevitably

Aw, thanks!  I primarily work in lead came so that’s why my lines are so pretty, but I’m getting better at copper foil!

Hahah yeah, I snagged the last one off Amazon :) I have a standard poodle and a frightening amount of succulents so I couldn’t resist.

In my unemployment I’ve been making some stuff!

Lol my step mom does and she will straight up cut you if you suggest that they’re a waste of time. And then will tell you about a segment on The Doctors where they talked about a new treatment for getting cut because you ran your mouth.

What’s up in your kitchen?

In other words, save the oatmeal cookie until after they’ve had at least half the bagel and fruit or bean salad first.

I’m job searching too and I’m using LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed, SimplyHired, Craigslist, and local temp agencies. Good luck!

I wish that we didn’t have damn healthcare networks. It has been a complete pain in the ass for my recently out trans sibling (and also a suicidal sibling because of their asshole dad) to find a qualified therapist to treat everything going on.  Now it’s an hour drive each way for them to go because that’s the only

All my friends swear by the Solly Baby wrap. I happen to know the creator of it and she’s an absolute kickass human. So I will always rep her when I can :)

Not privileged at all - and I agree. It’s just the hassle of trying to find someone good, yet affordable should I end up holding the bag.

Good thoughts, thank you :)

No, I really can’t afford one.  I understand that I could countersue to have my legal fees paid in the event that the grandparent loses, but that’s no guarantee.  And I don’t believe for a second that the grandparent would pay up either.
