Agreed, I’ve got 111k on my Honda and its only unscheduled trips to the mechanic have been for a bad pulley and a transmission sensor. Less than $500 between the two of them.

Is anyone here savvy with auto/home insurance and the ins and outs of how rates are calculated?

Long story short, I was rear ended on Tuesday. The damage to my car is quite minor, but nonetheless there’s obvious, silly looking damage and I need a new bumper and paint. The girl that hit me was incredibly apologetic…

My grandma’s 93 Legend is still going strong, albeit it’s owned by a mechanic now. It was a great car.

I’ll second the “knowing how to turn the gas and water off” bit. I hadn’t even thought of it until my inspector pointed it out in July and presto...a few months later I needed to turn off the water in a hurry.

My dad has one of these in his guest bath, and it is indeed bliss. Just tap it downwards and go about washing your hands. In a few seconds just a light little *tap* behind you and that’s it.  Toilets at both of our houses are strictly “lids down” because of jerkwad cats and someday I’ll replace my seats with this…

My stepmom (who has literally 3 closets full of clothes) grouses at me all the time for not having “nice” clothes. I work for a small company predominately staffed by young male engineers who wear some shade of blue or gray literally every day. Ain’t nobody care that I have a Monday outfit, a Tuesday outfit, etc. etc.…

In all fairness this outfit sounds really cute.  Bonus that it’s comfortable and works for your situation!

My dad developed it after major vascular surgery that required very strict complete bedrest for a week. It did not sound fun at all.
