No joke, I have two chickens (done up Ina Garten style) sitting in my fridge right now. They’re tastier and much more manageable than a damn turkey for four people. And, I already have a crock pot prepped with veggies for stock that I’ll get started this afternoon so I can just drop the chicken carcasses in and make

Can someone explain to this Old what the Supreme brand is and why it’s so hip and with it (unlike me)? I’ve heard something about bricks.

I got a killer deal on a Black Friday couch...last Saturday.  The term is indeed meaningless now.

You’ve gotten some good advice, and I’d like to add that if you’re getting into older properties and aren’t super familiar with maintaining a home that spending some more $ on a top notch inspector will save you a lot of trouble down the road.

I’m very sad to hear this, and biggest of internet hugs to you and your broken heart. As others have said, please reach out to a grief counselor if you can’t see a way out. But, with a loss so fresh please do not burden yourself with expectations of processing your grief, writing the last chapter, and being done with

I say to send your resume in. Change and uncertainly is terrifying, but I think the potential positives outweigh the negatives. I’m in a similar situation at work - no way to move up and no raises forthcoming and I feel very stuck. Were it not for the other great perks we get and the office environment (fun!) I would

Biggest of hugs to you and for his recovery. My dad had a complication with a major surgery last year and I was beside myself - it’s so hard to see our daddies not at 100%.  It sounds like he’s stable and in good hands, please don’t forget to take care of you too <3.

Any other rebels out there doing something different for Thanksgiving? We switched to making these instead of turkey last year and are doing it again this year, and probably forever. Zero stress, less waste, tastes better, and a shitload of awesome homemade chicken stock the next day.

I’m the family foster mom, lol. My little nephew came to live with me three months ago and I will likely become my younger brother’s (20) caretaker when my mom isn’t able to do it anymore. My brother is disabled and unable to support himself due to the effects of a head injury when he was 12.

I suggest that you also take a Google at Russian piping tips to see if they’ll also do what you’re trying to do.  But easier :)

I used a Wilton Large Petal Tip #125 and ice directly onto the cupcake - I basically use the cupcake as a large flower nail.  I also pipe down a layer of frosting over the top of the cupcake to help hold everything and keep things from getting dried out in the fridge.

I’d say Funfetti but it’s actually Rainbow Party Chip (Betty Crocker) because copyrights gonna copyright.

When he jumps don’t use your hands to push him down - I’m told they read it as “play” and that only encourages them. Instead, use a knee to the chest (don’t hurt him of course) or turn away from the jump and give a firm “NO!”.  Friends of mine had a jumpy Scotty dog and they were ok with me doing this - I was the only

I’ll have to post pics when they’re finished but I have a lovely set of three glass mosaic leaves that need grout and a little sewing machine stained glass suncatcher to finish up :) It’s a budget Christmas this year - yay for buying a house but not yay for being house poor.

In the meantime you can enjoy cakes I’ve

I’m looking forward to my dad coming over and helping me install cabinets in my dining room so I can finally get the piles of excess kitchenware out of my living room :)

You know you’re over 30 when...

This is my Millie - today’s her 5th birthday!

I may actually be an overgrown 7 year old.

My dog and I do the Couch to 5k app on my tiny little street every evening because gyms are awful.  It’s free, flexible, and once I’m home, my ass is home.

All things considered it isn’t so bad because I get to laugh about my dog enjoying a simple trot while I endure a gaspy, legs a burnin’ jog.

I’m a reluctant millennial (‘84), but in all reality, if our sparking a “fresh perspective” to mortuaries results in more options for natural burial I’m down.

Smoke Gets in Your Eyes is great too!
