My company does this - the two extra paychecks/year are the BEST - but with paychecks that fall on different numbered days of the month you need to do some autopay prep.

My nephew told me that he saw a girl being teased about her hair at school so he told her jokes to help her cheer up.
Hey Jezzies - I posted a few weeks ago about taking custody of my nephew and I need a place to vent, and I probably need some advice too. Feel free to dish it out.
I recently was asked to take custody of a young family member for at least a school year, possibly more. I’m single and don’t have kids of my own, so becoming an insta-single mom pretty much overnight has been an adjustment. The kid goes to after school care which helps quite a bit - he needs that social gas tank fill…
Older products were often made with quality metal gearing and other durable touches - that’s not uncommon! My mom’s Bosch mixer lasted well over 30 years. She opted to switch to a Kitchen-Aid at that point, which should also last a good long while too!
Not saying that you’re wrong, but I’ve got some Calphalon nonstick pans that are going strong ten years later. I’m just careful with their finish ;)
I say they’re only worth it if you’re frequently making advanced dishes or mass produce stuff. I make macarons all the time in a Whirlpool and it’s fine - though I wouldn’t go anything lower than midrange in the product lineup if I were to buy something new.
I got a Microplane as a gift years ago and it’s still going strong.
This is a good point! And things that last so long also give you an opportunity to hand them down to kids/friends/relatives too. My aforementioned cake pans were my mom’s - she purchased them when she was pregnant with my older brother and handed them down when I took up cake decorating a few years ago.
Having a side cake business and in general being someone who likes to cook, I say that spending a few bucks more on kitchen gear is totally worth it. My cake pans, for example, are older than my 34 year old hide but still perform great and are durable as all get out. They’re not the cheapest things, but are still…
They're really not that bad. Until they are, but in general they're not that bad.
Yes. I know kids with more shoes than me.
This method is an utter pain in the ass when kids ride in other vehicles, like going for an errand with another parent in their car, or trips with aunties and friends, etc. You’ve now added another step to getting them out the door because you need to go find the car keys, put your shoes on, hope nobody you know…
I was going to say...I literally do not have these problems with my Chromecast due to living (mostly) alone. I don’t even explain to guests or family how to use the device - just have them pick something on my Netflix app and I take it from there.
That was me - I’ve never had the opportunity but wanted kids, got older and wasn’t quite sure, then rented from a family with little kids and it became a firm NO.
I've been a homeowner for a month too. And yup. Just makin' it rain in the housewares section.
I totally understand. Roller coasters are ridiculous fun (except X2, too ridiculous) but my inner ears have gone all “eff you Kern!” in my 30s and I’m pukey and miserable for the rest of the day if I so much as go up a lift hill :(
Agreed - back when my nieces and nephews were rear facing I had to slide my front passenger seat all the way up and take the headrest off just to fit their monster car seats. My 5 seater car was suddenly a 3 seater, assuming I wasn’t also hauling a stroller (then it’d be 2!).
Just kid - there's some other weight limit (want to say it's in the 60lb range) that is car seat + kid but the manufacturers have to do the math for you and that's where the 40/42lb comes from.
Parents keeping kids in harnessed car seats longer should also be making note that LATCH systems, as great as they are, have weight limits due to the standards for that system being from the early 2000s. In many cases, you must discontinue installing the car seat with LATCH and switch to installing with the seat belt…
