Seems like every news story includes a “heroic bystanders pulled the victims to safety” comment when it’s really a risky thing to do generally. This group of bystanders was worth pointing out!

Kudos to those bystanders for attending to the victims in place instead of dragging them out/away from their vehicles. Let the trained professionals move crash victims unless there’s a pressing need to not wait.

My money’s on it having to do with the bumper of the Sequoia sitting higher than the crash structure of the Impala. The Impala can’t do much if its bumper goes right under.
