My coworkers took me shooting twice and IIRC I’ve shot an AR-15 (they are indeed nice to shoot), a bolt action rifle, a 45, shotgun, and a bunch of other stuff I can’t begin to explain. But, since my brother’s suicide with a 22 I want literally nothing to do with guns.

I was gonna say...no way a union would let this happen.

Here in Southern California we can get by without a/c on account of $$$ (I do), but you’re going to have a few crappy days/nights in the summer where a box fan doesn’t cut it. And we have basically zero humidity. Doing this in hot, humid Louisiana is just inhumane. These guys don’t even have a window they can open.

I dislocated a toe on my 30th birthday (while on a kayak/hike adventure in Kauai) so I’ve decided that ON my birthday every birthday in my 30s I will do something slightly dangerous and very ridiculous. It’s been fun so far! Next year I’m planning to hike Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park.

60-something acres I believe. They said that only about 9 are developed.

There’s an animal sanctuary out in the sticks of San Diego (https://lionstigersandbears.org/) and they run scheduled tours of their facility and animals. You can book a spot for a tour, but for a bit more dough you can feed one of the eligible animals (grizzly bear, lion, mountain lion, tiger, leopard) a small pile of

Definitely recommend. Do be warned it’s pretty far out in the sticks, so plan accordingly :) Happy to answer any other San Diego questions too!

Yeah, he’s a piece o’ crap. That tiger was beautiful though.

It’s my birthday and I fed a tiger today!

I couldn’t find the brag thread :( I’ll try again.

It’s my birthday! And I fed a tiger today!

Welcome! This group is so freaking friendly - hope you enjoy your foray out of lurkerdom.

We only get tons of jerkface coyotes in my super suburban area. Raccoons are actually something you get up to go look at!

I’ve lived in California my whole life and earthquakes are nbd but Lord help me not lose my shit at the idea of a tornado. I cannot with the midwest.

But they’re so cuddly.

Spice weasels, spice gulls...there’s something for everyone!

I was the biggest of the kids at 9-9 and it only just now occurred to me that I might have destroyed my mom’s junk. I am really afraid to birth a child my size.

This was the point that I started slamming my head onto my keyboard.
