Liz instructing Pete to ask the right question very much reminded me of SOTHL and how now Jodie Foster is, in this scene, playing the Hannibel Lecter role. Circle of pop culture life. I loved it. So if Pete is the male Clarice, let’s hope he doesn’t get dead.

Don’t sleep on Control. From a gameplay standpoint, it’s easily Remedy’s best game.

A little off? It missed almost every fucking point Alan Moore was trying to make because it was too busy slavishly aping Gibbons panels.

I put hundreds of hours into the original Overwatch. I loved that game. I stopped playing around the time all the bad stuff started coming out a couple of years ago. But also part of it was how the game was essentially in a holding pattern with all resources going into the sequel. I was always going to come back for

might actually be looking at GOTY 2024 here

Is silksong coming in 2024?

Me either. But I love Control and Alan Wake 2 is my GOTY. James McCaffrey was a major part of both of those games. He will be missed.

In order:

Agreed. Just showed one to a friend recently. The only “modern” port of the first game is the PC port, which is 20 years old and takes a bit of work to get running.

God bless his family. I pray the years of joy will outweigh the sorrows of today.

Remedy put him to such good use in so many titles, that their future games really won’t be the same without him. We’re going to feel his absence for years to come.

RIP.

Worth watching a “game movie” playthrough on youtube (where most of the gameplay is cut out, just story / dialogue).

He was also Trench in Control. I’m stunned to hear he’s passed so suddenly.

Such a huge shock. His voice across the Remedy games has been such a constant for the fans and it felt like he still had so much left to do. One of the all time memorable voice artists who will be sorely missed.

Heartbreaking, 65 is gone too soon.

This one hits hard. I love Max Payne and Alex Casey was one of my favourite characters having recently finished AW2.

Fuck, RIP to a legend

I’ve never touched a Max Payne game (to my detriment), but it’s so lovely to see his colleagues come out and say such things about him. I’m sure he knew he made an impact on the medium, being such an outstanding and important series. Not to mention his other accomplishments. RIP sir, reckon you’ve earned it.

I found this years TGAs pretty lackluster. I cant stand how they treat the actual awards like an afterthought. I saw some article somewhere that Geoff should just make it Winter E3 and we can all cut the crap. Just have online trailers for things and call it a day. The way he will just read off a bunch of awards
