Depression might be an aspect of her presentation but toddlering over everyone else is not inherently an aspect of depression. It signifies a sense of loss of control. I wish luck to you and yours. Good fences make good neighbors.

FORTY? She sounds twelve.

“I have never seen combat”

Oh, my God, that’s horrifying. Thank you for making sure more people know about this, and for sharing the link to the foundation. I’m signing the petition, and will make sure to circulate it amongst my old MSA colleagues.

You’re a horrible person, you know that? Putting the blatantly obvious rape via oral or anal penetration aside, an erection does not equal consent. That comes from a person’s words and actions, not the state of their genitals.

I would like to raise awareness of a hate crime in California. It is currently not being investigated as a hate crime, and workers at the bar where it happened, are apparently being told not to answer police or they will lose their jobs.

I call bullshit on his studly anecdotes about how evil and lazy and weak those guuuuurls are. Unless he REALLY does have the shittiest leadership in his brigade. I went through the 37F course (and later the 97e) and we did those 12k ruckmarches every week. You got recycled if you really, seriously fell out the way

This is the thing I find so baffling about this conversation—women have been in combat in Canada, Israel, and a whole bunch of other places. And it’s been fine!

Uhhh no, obviously the only things that matter are the things that men are naturally more inclined to be better at. Obviously. Because reasons.

Ah yes, People magazine, the respected bastion of investigative journalism...

I don’t know...I’m not really knowledgeable on this topic but I’ve read men who are who actively argue against women in combat who’ve said that some of that stuff is indeed the norm. Like getting the chance to repeat a course. And it says right there in the article that RATC is offered to specialty candidates.

“mixed-gender units had “superior problem-solving” and better discipline.”

Holy shit, I can’t even understand the mental gymnastics it would take to not consider this racist as hell

I think a lot of it is fetishization of the oppressed as being “purer.” It seems pretty common in Western culture in general— i.e. the noble savage. People don’t even realize they’re doing it!

It’s not too much of a big deal, if anything it illustrates this:

The whole thing was excruciatingly painful. And this was only part of the exchange.

Also weird because: boning your dad was presumably not on the menu for him? And presumably he’d already seen a picture of you at least and decided that you were bone-able? So the relative attractiveness of your dad is not really relevant?

I dodged a bullet big time with that one.

The fuck?
