I've found having a simple countdown timer is essential to good time management, although I use mine more often to get back on task after a break rather than to remind me to take a break.

When washing the outside of your car goto a car wash with a foam brush. Put in the minimum amount, wet the car down with the "rinse" setting then spend the rest of the time scrubing the car with the brush. Even if time runs out you can keep scrubbing with excess foam the clock doesn't need to be running.
