Wrong heritage... they were thinking AMC
It took me a few years to get invested in the nuances of the sport and although I wasn’t introduced during a ‘great’ season I do think Mark Neale’s first film helped set the hook. Maybe his newest film will catch a few more fans.
I didn’t mind the more ‘local oval’ feeling of the concessions etc... but that could just be me being more forgiving back int 2012.
Can’t argue with that, now if only we were comparing both to Laguna Seca.... dream a little dream for me.
I prefer we drop indy and keep some of the ‘greats’, yes I know Indy is great, and I loved visiting but lets be honest, it didn’t produce great races.
I was feeling guilty about my comment... Here is a picture of a car I built only 5 years ago... I’m a hypocrite too, I love rivets and welding.
This isn’t totally true. The craft of carbon is there in small run hand laid parts, the molds, the layup, the process, and the technique. I come from a long line of metal craftsman and somewhere in my career I deviated to carbon, I don’t regret it, and I’m counting on my next products being not only carbon but one…
For the past few years my career has been focused on these materials and the processes. The materials lambo developed with their US partners are important for the industry because they focus heavily on low cycle time materials and processes. This translates to low cost, domestic production as labor is a lower factor…
Fake overrun is kinda neat and kinda fun no? I love when my miata pops as I perfectly shift from 1, pop, 2 but its rare that it happens perfectly when it does I give a grin. If my car did it always and all the time, simply because, then I would want the rest of the car to match that character. I know for certain I…
But does it have a stylus?
Beckham and Triumph seem to be better at selling handbags than motorcycles, but I guess that’s what happens when an object of such great utility finds such great purpose as an accessory. Thank god its not represented differently here, otherwise we may be confused.
Wait are you still defending the labor theory of value?
If you were honest you would be carrying an extra cheapo battery from Walmart not that bullshit jumper that won’t start a tired car on the best day, let alone on a cold day.
I believe they did another similar ad later which actually said ‘1/2 price’.
Don’t forget about Dodge....
I can name tons of bmw’s I love, air cooled, oil cooled, water cooled and fuel injected, but I agree completely about much of their modern design, its a bit much.
I’m not sure what I would choose if I chose American... my last bike was a VFR750, 84 I think, Interceptor, v4, brap... gah now i’m going to be on a bike…
Bingo. When i’m playing the roll of industrial designer i’m normally wishing my customers had this mindset, but I think most people don’t know their own tune until they hear it.... luckily we bill hourly.
It should be noted that after I started dedicating large sums of my time to paying attention to styling, for work…
I imagine the BMW designers will be confused as to your comment on form. Wouldn’t it be more accurate to describe the aesthetic chosen to be one not of your liking rather than one that required no thought?
Why is the area of design and styling the one area where we can’t seem to step back and find beauty in the forms…
Vindicated at last, i’ve been loosing sleep. http://lanesplitter.jalopnik.com/i-think-honda-…
All it shares with the other cars is the road.
