Thanks! Much more where that came from.

I will keep annotating posts with my vintage pron.

Yesterday, reading a 64’ vintage r&t when I stumbled upon the auto show where the first Lambo’s were shown. Very fun stuff..

I remember the first car I drove to high school in was a GEO which was really a Corolla. We refereed to it as the G, E, O. That is all.

Can we dump some of our ‘old’ builds here? Not that I want to brag... but I want to brag?

Kimmel doesn’t get that things change. We won’t always pay the court jesters a huge salary to entertain and amuse us on television, we may pay other jesters..... They don’t think they are kings, and their followers don’t claim to worship them, they claim to be entertained.

Just like your fans Jimmy, except some of us

I believe everything in this video is intended NOT to be a new idea.

Thats Adrian Sutil driving the La Ferrari? Right? Is anyone watching the same video I am. Count the p1 out but likely driver related, the 918/la ferrari race was real even with the likely short time behind the wheel for Sutil.

Couldn’t agree more. The more I watch racing the more I want it to be fast and almost no fun, and the racing I partake in to be slow and super fun. I will call it middle aged sisu setting in.

Would you prefer racing where tires were not a factor? Tires are just the last thing the teams have to blame when the rubber hits the road. Every team is trying to hit a tire target, all other things which can and will break have great effect on tire degradation, and wear with the driver being the final and greatest

Ya I get that, and I would love if we had a pure tech racing... 100% the potential of humans to go fast around a track. It’s just not what we have.

So we get a show, or some variation on a show but i’ve got a r&t magazine from the 50’s where journalists are making the same complaint about the same rule changes back

It seems you are making the best compromise. Maybe the broadcasters highlight teams going beyond the tire warning.... pushing the limits, make it legal but maybe every now and again a Ferrari loses a podium.

This way the tire companies avoid egg/face situations and teams push it like they are supposed to. win/win

The tires were as good as possible(ya know within the confines of the rules), the racers chose to push them beyond possible and sometimes they win. Isn’t that racing?

This sounds about right. The manufacturer prefers their tires never look to be the failure of anyones race and the teams want every option open to compete, including how long their cars or drivers can stretch the life of a tire.

This creates risk, spectacle, and strategy. Can you imagine if instead Vettel heard the

Many people have no problem realizing and understanding the difference in driving a RWD vs AWD track or fun cars. I believe this car offers something an STI never will......

OVERSTEER har har... I kid, I had one or two, they were both great.

This all depends on how we look at driving as enthusiasts. For me the technique of learning how to heel/toe shift, trail-brake, drift etc... was all about perfecting a craft. The tool can change a large degree before the craft no longer becomes fun.

For instance I see a future where the craft includes carefully

She clearly was stating that her portion of the story serves no value in terms of the narrative chosen by the film makers. Is that silly, is that stupid, is that revisionist.... of course it is, she knows this, and hopefully the press will counter the chosen narrative and highlight the underlying ones... like this

As a crafty person I list paper, and superglue as two of my last favorite things to have stuck to my fingers so I find this almost impossible to conceive.
