Pearl's been portrayed as out-of-sync many times. She abruptly stopped *two* musical numbers in this episode alone!

I'm picking up what the show's putting down. I'm just curious to see if they can actually make a big robot setpiece episode stand out the way the more mundane action or slice-of-life ones do.
Rewatching this, and it’s kind of blowing my mind how much attention to detail there is.
Yeah, the last song is the only one where I'm left a little bit unsatisfied. I wished they'd lingered a little more on exactly what Pearl and Greg have in common.
As someone had to point out to me, the tuxedo, top hat, and rose are all references to Tuxedo Kamen.
Animation, that costs somethin'.
Eh, I don't think Homeworld's that rigid. The Rubies seemed to be getting along just fine, and they didn't all come from the same mold.
It's a merchandise-driven show and it's on Netflix. It should be good for a little while.
I'm not sure Lapis and Pearl are really that much of a match for each other. Pearl is emotionally needy and wears her heart on her sleeve at all times. Lapis is closed-off and doesn't invest much in others, even the ones she cares about (like Steven).
It is *really* weird to hear Finn's voice coming out of a Sokka expy.
What, before you saw this show did you think that Jasper's VA spoke that way all the time? Voice actors in general have good vocal range.
Come to think of it, it might actually make more sense to view Homeworld's hangups as less "homophobic bigotry" (although it is also that) and more "sex-negativity".
I think it would be a little silly for them to *all* have those urges while simultaneously being mostly in denial about it. But it's telling that Peridot, after coming around to the CGs, sees fusion as more or less a natural thing to explore and experiment with. Fusion in general's been portrayed as such a…
Has anyone else been watching Voltron: Legendary Defender on Netflix? It's made by people from Avatar and Korra and while I've seen only a little bit of either, it seems to have a similar approach.
The Crystal Gems might be a biased sample, but I still don't buy that romance isn't a natural part of gem life. I'm sure they have it, even if fusion doesn't happen or only happens behind closed doors
Well, we've seen the AT storyboarders draw Finn significantly taller in the past few seasons without much of a fuss. I think "Steven's Birthday" is confirmation that they're not changing Steven's design, but I don't see why they can't give Connie a growth spurt.
Pssst…
Steven's house should be a World Heritage Site. It's all about that TV magic.
Ugh, tell me about it. The spoilers (intentional and otherwise) are getting to be ridiculous. While I wish this show all the best success, I find myself hoping that the new format is a bomb just so I can have fun speculating about what's going to happen like I usually would.
It's pretty clear that the relationship between Steven and Connie is at least partially based on the one between Conan and Lana. I think the scene where Steven and Connie surface together in "Bubble Buddies" is also a direct homage.
