But she sounded like she was in on the joke this time. Progress!

Well, Lapis did try to drown Connie.
I'm curious: is this episode title a reference to Lucinda Williams' "Sweet Old World"? Because I swear, when I was just getting into this show last winter, I swear I'd get back from classes and do nothing but watch SU and listen to her.
Before this episode, I found it pretty hard to understand what people were getting from Lapis. It was clear the show staff loved her, and they'd managed to characterize her in such a way that everything that happened to her made sense (which is not nearly as small a compliment as it might sound) but she still felt…
"Wacky roommate?" Oh Lapis, you have no idea.
Ke$ha should do what Nina Simone did when she was being abused by her husband/manager: elope to Barbados and have an affair with their president.
Who needs future vision when you can look at the opponent's screen?
It's canon, but from when Steven was around seven years old.
Adventure Time, more than the other shows mentioned, covers a whole lot of different moods and characters, and it grows up a lot as it gets older. If you've only seen two episodes (especially if those two episodes were from early on in the show's run) there's a decent chance you could still get something out of the…
I dunno, we've heard again and again about Rose's secrets. Lapis's powers (and the potential of her alerting Homeworld to the CG's survival) make her a clear threat to the CGs. I see Rose as a good person, but one who's been forced to make some pretty nasty judgment calls.
I'd love to see Vidalia again.
Well, at least in this episode, those communions were explicitly triggered by the Rose Quartz gem.
I don't think Homeworld is a society that's fundamentally opposed to teamwork, actually. As a Peridot she's probably used constantly working on projects with thousands of other gems.
I actually agree! That episode definitely cemented Sam as Jesse's best boarding partner for me. He's capable of working in perfect sync with Jesse while also managing to make their episodes incredibly funny.
I feel like the problem with Malachite is part that the show is fastidiously focused on Steven's point of view, partly that she's a metaphor for something (abusive relationships) that might be inappropriate for the age bracket to dwell upon in gory detail.
Should be fixed now.
"Same Old World" is going to be a Peridot backstory ep or I will be super disappointed.
So, uh, I'm not sure if this is totally copasetic but I'm an active commenter and I haven't had a forum to talk about this show on here in months, so:
Was that the one on afterwards? With Bella? I caught that one, and it was very sweet.
"Not planes! Never planes!"
