No one's saying that different characters can't have different opinions on what constitutes "true love". If Garnet says she doesn't believe in "love at first sight", that's the end of the matter, isn't it? And her advice is good: even if "love at first sight" exists, the "first sight" part isn't the important thing.

Yes!

I've never seen Teen Titans in any form, but I had to upvote you anyway. I'm a sucker for articulate nerd-rage.

You don't have to have kids if you're in a relationship.

It's silly fandom inside-baseball, but have people here seen the supposed titles/blurbs for the next couple of episodes? Some people managed to find hidden pages on zap2it with information about three new episodes. They don't sound that much like the show, but the same process also revealed blurbs from the next few AT

Actually, I was expecting a lot more negativity. I was being silly.

I was hoping they'd show up in this episode, actually.

I have to say, this is probably the first SU episode to be overtly message-based. Sure, there've been episodes with an obvious moral subtext beforehand, but even in those cases it's arisen very naturally from character interaction and the show didn't explicitly spell out what they wanted you to get from it. Here, an

I think it's important to give Ronaldo a little credit: he's capable of asking a girl he just met (sort of) if she wants to do something later. The guy's socially awkward and clearly has internalized some harmful gender roles, but he's enthusiastic and doesn't stew in anxiety and resentment like Lars does.

"My name is Greg Universe, and this massive drink of water is my wife!"

I can't honestly imagine it going down another way. There isn't really anywhere else for her to go. But, yes, it's really fun to imagine Lapis and Connie gradually being brought closer into the fold of the main cast.

Next week, to Eric Thurm's chagrin, features the triumphant return of selfies!

I dunno, there comes a point of emotional distress where you just lapse into learned helplessness. I didn't buy it at first, but it made more sense as I went back to it.

It's a bismuth crystal. It's probably a last-resort gem monster. Maybe we'll see it in "Reformed".

I don't think this is "catering to the adult fans". Most of the adult fans honestly seem just as nonplussed at this stuff as the kids are.

I mean, I do primarily think of them as lesbians. That was the whole point of their song, and their interactions so far. The "sisters" thing at first just grew out of an exercise in being contrarian which I then decided was actually really cute.

Sweet Pee? Someone should go see a doctor.

Yeah, the loss of Ice King's drumkit and weight set are really sad, especially when you remember that they said they'd been there as long as he was.

And, hey, if he *really* takes Buck Dewey's model to heart, maybe he'll start being nicer to Steven.

I feel bad that there's a part of me that honestly really likes viewing Ruby and Sapphire as a platonic sisterly relationship. Part of it's that they look so obviously paired in stature and design, and that they do have a sort of naivete that makes me think of children.
