I wonder what the Kindle Fire took away from Google we don't know about yet. Otherwise, why do they want to directly compete?

Here is how Google's glass prototype really works. Forget the prototype video, this is the real deal.

Thanks, looks dumber than I thought.

No, because Apple doesn't announce products they never intend to see through to production, no pun intended.

The problem with your comparison is those headsets are immersive, meaning there is no other background than the screen you are looking at thus you don't have the same visual perception issues these eyeglasses will have. Your retina isn't confused by the background and varying levels of light.

I personally think its quite cynical of them and is reminiscent of MS. Apple did one of these concept videos in 1989, during Jobs absence.

Like I said, only under strict controls.

The Google glasses don't exist. Its a concept video with a concept prototype that isn't even ready for anyone to use. They are as real as Microsoft's Courier. It'll be another abandoned project by Google so don't get your hopes up. A lot brighter people have been working on these things for decades. Google isn't

Well, that's not what Nokia showed here. If you notice, the user has to refocus what is appearing on the glasses and the background goes out of focus.

The big issue with these glasses and Google's is that they'll cause extreme eye fatigue and headaches. Try putting something small on a pair of glasses and then change your focus to that little image a half inch in front of your eye and then back out again several times.

"A kerfuffle ensued in which a bitch was cut."

I had to look up who Jessie J was, never heard of her. She seems like a Lily Allen clone. Anyway, it appears a lot of people like her over there and I'd imagine she cost a lot of money to perform for a small party so one has to wonder, is Waterloo spending its money responsibly on entertaining people with expensive

"Windows" didn't start until years after the PC hit the consumer market. Windows didn't build what I'm typing on which is a Mac, which came before Windows.

I can't help but believe that Microsoft made a huge error when they included "Windows" in the operating system name. Most people perceive that Window's is a damaged brand, something they have to put up with at work. Many major corporations are still operating on XP so people have a very dated idea about Windows. If

Still not worth $3k for those of us that had one like it back in the day.

Exact same experience here as you had. I too thought it was the coolest thing. Probably cost about $20 and it was made of black plastic but I'm sure had the same function as this $3000 one.

I had one of these when I was 10, but it didn't have the big Omega logo or the $3000 price tag.

How about this one, a little more revealing.

No love for Cameron?

Save it for Engadget please.
