I had the pop-in issues myself. I made a rageconfig.cfg file with the values noted in this article about 2 days ago and it fixed all of my issues. No game should require a fix like that (and I'm definitely not letting id off the hook for this fiasco) but at least a viable workaround is present even before they patch…
