Listen, you’re not wrong that public stadiums and TIFs are generally public scams. You’re also not wrong for asking how a bankrupt city like Detroit can afford to pay for a brand new stadium.

Detroit giving away free money to billionaires who would then turn around and make meaningful new investments in their city that they otherwise wouldn’t have made would probably be a good idea.
