Yeah, because one thing is “comedy” and the other is proprietary, confidential information you’re contractually obligated not to disclose and could probably reasonably infer that, should you share it, you won’t have that job very long.

Her demographics don’t matter, and her firing isn’t anti-free speech.

She threw enough shade to combat climate warming.

What a dumb defense.

What’s funny is he makes fun of you specifically in the special. If you watched the entire special (sounds like you didn’t) and came away with, “Dave is transphobic”, then I don’t know what you were watching. I laughed, I cried, I empathized with multiple parties. This was stand-up at its highest level and i pity you

No, he declared that he stands with cis gendered women. You declared that he stands with people who want to see your friends dead. This is the example of emotional response that I mentioned.

I’ve watched the special multiple times and I’m not hearing where the offense is coming from. Is it because he claimed to be team TERF? How is that harmful to you or anyone else? You disagree with him, he disagrees with you. We’re entering a territory of sterilization. Actually, he kind of called out what would

If this ends with Netflix making some donation to a worthy cause, then fine. Nothing wrong with that. But, assuming that these employees genuinely wanted Netflix to remove the special, hopefully it shows some guts and leaves it up.

Left hand path ftw

The mother pulling such disturbing faces they have to lock her in the attic...that part still scares the absolute shit out of me. It’s such a horrifying concept, left completely undescribed so your brain can do all the heavy lifting. The best/worst kind of horror writing.

Ant-Man & The Wasp is my favorite MCU film, just putting that out there. Inventive action, fun characters, great jokes, and it’s one of the few MCU movies (including its predecessor) where the fate of the world isn’t on the line; it’s just about Hope/Hank trying to find Janet and Scott trying to not get caught evading

Fucking thank you! I watched the special. I love stand up comedy. It is one of my favorite things ever. Did I agree with everything Dave said? No. Is Dave transphobic? NO!

Gonna break rank with a lot of friends here but this shit is stupid. I watched the special. I didn’t agree with everything he said but what was said was not said with hate or malice. It was stand up.

That seems a tad harsh and rather unrealistic. I like Chappelle and find most of his jokes humorous. I also have trans friends who I hope the very best for and just want them feel as welcome and deserving in this world as a straight white male can. This idea that just because I can laugh at the how silly a blind black

Why? That “I told you so” moment does nothing helpful. It’s just a bunch of people acting like they’re somehow better and more pure for not having liked something. Saying “I never liked ‘em!” after the fact does nothing but inflate the person’s ego who says it. It’s just annoying grandstanding by people who want to

I mean, sure, Chappelle is doubling down on some very problematic stances here, but...really? We’re doing the “I never thought he was funny, unlike you plebes” thing?

It’s not about getting it or not getting it. Cancelled or not cancelled. Funny or not funny. It’s about having the freedom to say what you want. You may not like what someone has to say and more power to you. Just because you don’t like doesn’t mean it should go away or even worse you should try to erase it.

If only people watched the whole thing instead of snippets and listen to the commentary on what they are supposed to think.

Of Lovecraft’s stories, I found The Colour Out of Space to be the scariest. It conveys the fear of the unknown and the sense of inevitable doom in an unrivaled manner.

H.P. Lovecraft’s At The Mountains of Madness.  The state of cosmic dread and unspeakable horror this book produces is IMO unmatched by any other written work I’ve come into contact with.
