Working as a film director doesn’t give you better taste in films. Why would you think that? It doesn’t elevate your opinion or make it more vaild than mine or yours. He’s entitled to his opinion but he is not “my betters”, he is just a man who made some films.

I get your argument for it but the flash back was also cliche outbreak stuff. Grabbing scientist as shes trying to relax, autopsy scene with dawning realization and then that ridiculous “bomb the whole city” like she was prepared to die rather than find a cure. Still loved the episode though

I’m hoping there aren’t any more flashbacks to the past. I want a story told in the present, don’t need the extra context. I get it. Seems like a weak device to pad out the series.

I like the idea very much and hope the execution matches the concept. What the article doesn’t make clear, however, is if this is an original show or it’s based on something by another broadcaster, perhaps in a different country.

Incredibles 2 is the one I disagree with most here in a list. A massive let down after the incredible(?) first film. The rest... yeah Maverick and Fury Road deseve to be here

I’d be happy if Everything Everywhere All At Once and Elvis didn’t win anything. Liked both films but not awards worthy. They’re flabby and boring in places.

Old was terrible. It had some great actors and they were asked to deliver their lines in a flat, dead manner and to behave just like real people don’t. Also, all of Shymalan’s recent films before that were bad too. Why would someone see one of his films? Why does he have the budget to make them? It makes no sense.

Brick is amazing. All the tropes of a hard-boiled detecive story transposed to high school. No one calls the police because its not that kind of film: adults barely feature for purely stylistic reasons. And it works. Easily Johnson’s best movie.
