As someone who has only lived in Southern California, and fought in Southern California, how effective is a fight when you’re wearing a ton of layers and mittens? I feel like that’s a great way to stay warm and also not hurt yourself/anyone else.

I hear this argument pretty regularly when measuring all sorts of people/places/things worth. The most recent one is people who don’t like Westworld on HBO and say it’s nowhere near as good as Game of Thrones. Yeah, it’s pretty difficult to be as good as the best. Doesn’t make it shit.

I don’t think the point is to make them change their mind right on the spot, because yeah that’s next to impossible. I think it’s more important to get them to see a different perspective ever so slightly here and there so that over time they can put together the pieces themselves.

To be fair though, nobody responds well to shouting in any argument/discussion. Usually shuts people down pretty quick. It’s one of the many reasons why this Ann Coulter in the making seems so much more jarring than regular Fox News pundits, because she is borderline yelling in every video.
