Man I tried with Fenix Rising, but I found the game incredibly obnoxious.  The irreverent humor just did not work for me at all.

Was it ever considered underrated? Pretty sure people generally liked it.

Though I never really got it. Didn’t work for me at all. Mostly because, aside from a few exceptions, I am not a fan of the Sony prestige model of the “walk and talk,” and there is a lot of that in Horizon Zero Dawn.

Also, I might be the only one

I think Kojima’s writing style criss-crosses between being profound and being endlessly pretentious. Like, I tend to like creators who are indulgent in their work, but I feel like Kojima is sometimes too smug and too certain of his own cleverness, that it stops being fun and becomes irritating in stead.

But then

ummm what?

Yeah...nah.

Never mind the fact that Palworld literally came out last month, so the idea that somehow Gamefreak or TPC will be able to course correct from whatever projects they’ve been working to “respond to Palworld” is silly.

But also...I don’t think anyone really wants them to put out a product that’s in “response”

The internet did what the internet always does, and takes valid complaints and criticisms for something and spins it into an absolute unhinged mess. Starfield is...okay. At best it’ s a 7/10 out game. I played about 20 hours of it, during which I had fun with it. It needed to be more than that considering the amount

ummm what?  The writer literally says they don’t like Starfield.  I don’t know where you’re getting that Kotaku loves the game, because that sounds like some shit you made up.

I mean the simple answer is that the force spirits don’t really represent the “wrath of angry fans” and are purely a plot device meant to make the remake “kinda different, but not really”

I mean this is largely the real reason why these games are happening: It’s crafting an FF7 cinematic universe where every game and spinoff is canon and can be referenced.

The thing is..I really wish I played the game that some of y’all clearly did. This heartfelt, deconstruction of both FF7 as well as a metacriticism of the relationship of the remake.” Cause that’s not really what I got from REMAKE at all, which is less a deconstruction of Final Fantasy 7 and more of a remix of the

Pretty much this.  It’s political theater.  Unless she’s this much of a meat head, there’s no way anyone thinks that she’ll be recasted in the role.  So yeah, it’s attention, plus maybe Disney settles out of court because they don’t want to deal with this something this stupid.

lol.  there it is.

I can see how the concept works. If the issue is about death threats than it shouldn’t matter who is receiving them at all. That’s the point, the posts here are not about sympathy for victims but all about “well you can’t say that about them because why didn’t you feel that about about this?” Aka: Whataboutism.

Dude, fuck off with your whataboutism. You don’t give a shit about anyone other than feeding into whatever culture war you’re currently jerking off to.  No one needs your concern trolling.

Sure. But then this game never reaches the sales numbers it currently.  The fact that the Pals are off-brand Pokemon characters has been the only reason this gets attention.

....is it?

Is there honestly more to this than “isn’t it funny you can shoot Pokemon like creatures with a gun?”  Is that now considered satire?

ummm...you do realize that Arceus and S/V were likely being developed at around the same time, right?

The problem is how insulated a lot of these communities are. They’re so disconnected from the real world. To an outsider, it’s just pure insanity.

You have people on one side deciding that ownership of this game is the only indicator of one’s moral compass”

This to me is so goddamn weird. Like Palworlds is clearly just an Ark clone with a Pokemon skin attached. But if you ask any of these guys, apparently Palworlds is this innovative and rebellious shot against

I don’t care for the notion that either I have to think that Mr. Beast is a saint or he’s the devil. Which....nah? Like, I don’t think Mr. Beast is a bad person as in he hasn’t had his third act right wing turn yet (though there’s always time), but I also don’t buy into the “Mother Theresa” narrative that his
