I think there’s a lot a revisionist history here. 1. BoTW was absolutely not divisive upon release. It was pretty much a criticial hit and massively popular for a video game. I agree that there has been a delayed backlash over the years as a segment of the gaming population seems to relish over BoTW “actually not

Sonic Frontiers is finally giving players the Sonic experience they’ve been wanting from a 3D Sonic game for almost the past 20 years.”

“fronts and refuses to make it clear it is an act”

If you appeal to people’s worst nature, you can’t be surprised when they behave badly.”

But is that really his fault? Like the difference between someone like Joe Rogan, who spews consipracy theories, anti-woke nonsense, and other bullshit because the man is too lazy to do any sort of research, is that he is actively

For those doubting Dunkey because he’s a shitposter, I would really recommend checking out Skillup’s review:

I mean, also--they look bad.

They’re no different than you and I. A lot of them either come from money or get extremely fucking lucking and hit the jackpot in order to make their money.

But strip em of their wealth, their power, their name, and then tell them to build back their money all over again?  I guarantee you none of them could do it.

Pretty much.  The “American Dream” is now setting up a company with the full intention of getting bought out by someone.

Honestly, I think the bar is so fucking low for these Sonic games that I think people are desperate for anything, ANYTHING, to attach themselves to. Like “This is the best Sonic game in years” just isn’t really the complement some are making it out to be.

I was gonna take you seriously, but then...

“even when it’s fake we want it white.”

Diddy, Mase, and B.I.G. said it best:

“Mo Money, Mo Problems.”

I am honestly not that surprised.

dude. The whole conspiracy theory angle you got going on is weird.

Yeah, It’s pretty dang shallow to suggest the reason why people don’t like Musk is because we’re jealous of his money.

There’s a great book called The Twilight of Democracy that highlights the authors experience of seeing friends and colleagues who were once politically alligned with her, suddenly veer into hard right wing territory. And a common theme among her stories is unfortunately pure pettiness.

A lot of people become bitter and

the very prologue switches between grim tragedy and black comedy in a way that feels entirely accidental and that dissonance continues throughout.

Surprised that there was no link to that fantastic Defunct land video:

and think trying to outright change language (all language I mean, of course people should try to respect pronoun choice) and pretend birth gender doesn’t exist at all is going too far,

From 2007 to around 2011 I was pretty active on the /co/ and /film/ boards, and it was where I got into comic books and foreign film respectively. Obviously Im looking at it from the perspective of someone who was more politically moderate at the time, but those spaces I did make genuine connections and informed a lot
