I have a friend who’s a champ at calling me regular-style and then sneakily switches over to video halfway through to show me something and IT DRIVES ME INSANE!!! I’ll only accept a FaceTime call if I have some time to mentally prepare first, I hate being “on” physically for a call.

He wanted to be an Iron Man

Agreed. And I love Nick Kroll (especially with John Mulaney).

Whether she knew what he was doing or not is immaterial (though given that she’s been queen for 67 years and suffered 14 prime ministers, I think it’s more likely than not that she knew what he was up to), because doing anything other that following the advice of her ministers would have resulted in a constitutional

The Queen understood what Boris was up to, but under the rules the Queen had no option but to agree to the porogation.

Yeah, that was supposedly what caused the end of Arnett and Poehler’s marriage.

Did this have anything to do with the divorce from Pohler?  I have always wondered what the deal was there, but they were very quiet and professional, so it was hard to read.

I remember hoping for Gwyneth Paltrow to appear in a Melissa Etheridge video to complete the hat trick of Brad Pitt girlfriends/wives in her videos, but nope.

Mmmm...90s Brad is my favorite until current Brad. That is all.

I think for Charles it actually works in his favor - he’s a sympathetic character in an extraordinarily popular show that comes at the exact moment when he’s trying to revamp his image in preparation to be king. Tampongate feels very far away right now.

When the Queen tried to get Margaret to not marry Armstrong-Jones, I really hoped that the conversation went more like “I’m telling you this because you’re my sister and I love you. He’s a degenerate and you’ll be miserable.” The way it was portrayed on The Crown made me really mad at the Queen.

ha! I love your scenario and i do hope the Queen does this.

Now THAT is a crime visor!

I never ever thought they’d last this long. But, at this point, it’s just too late to cast them into obscurity.

I think Natalie is a good writer, but it kinda seems like it was a toxic friendship all around.

I didn’t know anything about this before this Jez article (because I’m 44) but I read Natalie’s essay and just... holy shit, kids. Why are you like this?

It’s an abusive relationship. How can they both be awful here? One is probably very mentally ill and the other was her co-dependent spouse.  They did awful things (especially one of them), but dang what a black and white reading of the story.

From the comment section on the source article: “I don’t even know who either of these people are, but I must say, as a straight black man who loves white girls messiness...this is top shelf."

First time saying this: thank god I’m too old to give a shit.

He died like he lived: drifting aimlessly wherever the current took him.”
