I liked Scott Pilgrim, but I felt that it was overrated. Fun movie, but it didn't change my life the way many in the blogosphere told me it would.

Translation time!

Sell it to Netflix. That is all.

Being on HBO already gives it a leg up on the competition in the minds of Emmy voters.

"Do people use smartphones to do dumb things?" Excellent question, GEICO

If Thor can do well with an unknown actor and a lesser known superhero, then Captain America with good buzz and a more recognizable actor has a chance. X-Men and Green Lantern have their own unique reasons for underperforming, and are not indicative of a trend.

Nice to see that Jay Leno comments on io9.

When I read the book, I imagined Shadow as a white guy with dark hair, like of Italian/Mediterranean descent. I can totally see a black guy in this role though. I also imagined John Glover as Odin, so it was a pleasant surprise to see him on this list. He plays a manipulative father very well (see early Smallville).

Your rant is absolutely correct! Since this single idea does not solve all of our problems in one fell swoop, it needs to be shot down!

Since this is HBO, I'm just wondering who they're going to pull a Lafayette on (AKA have them stick around long after their expected book death)

Does this cost less than the chalkboard or dry erase board it intends on replacing?

Wasp, anyone?

Is it going to help X-Men that no one really knows what the hell Super 8 is really about? The marketing for that film has been pretty crappy. It's like the copy of a copy of the Cloverfield advertising.

This list brings to mind the The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant series, where in the first book the hero rapes one of the natives.

It's not that Darwin's ability solves his problems, it just gives him the tools to help him solve it. It gives him a hammer as opposed to hiring a handyman.

A TV series is not the appropriate venue for Wonder Woman. The scale is just too small. Wonder Woman is a pretty much a goddess and requires an epic story, not Ally McBeal with a golden lasso. The best venue for this is in a feature film (see Thor).

Fear is what got us to the moon the first time. Maybe we can scare the government into getting us up there again quickly. I could have sworn I saw a terrorist on the moon the last time I looked up!

I'm sorry, but why the "ugh...?"
