My in-laws said the exact same thing, jimmy-buffet. Prior to the spindle grille, they were lifetime converts to Lexus and actively tried to get over the grille but just couldn’t. They drive an MDX now. They paid cash and bought the thing brand new. They couldn’t get over the grille.

What gets me is that car companies hear that their designs are boring, and they think “the only way to make this not boring is to make it look weird.”

... but it can be not ugly and not boring. Please enjoy this collection of sedans with not boring and not ugly grilles. (Also, why does the GX need a grille opening that big? I can maybe understand for performance cars that need the air, but a big lumbering SUV? Seems fake, no?)

that vacuum cleaner grill is beyond ugly. I’m 30 years old. How about only put a grill that matches what the car needs for air intake, these fake grills are stupid.

I have less of a problem with the spindle grille and more with styling based on an abundance of design lines that don’t really go anywhere and create hollow, unappealing surfaces.
