The Scott Baio thng is totally fine, and fair if you're at all familiar with the garbage Baio typically spews. The Harry Potter thing is just a run of the mill comedic flop. Not funny and a stretch, yes. But not the end of the world.

Her hair, clothes, styling all look so very 70s to me. And not in a good way. I don't understand why this homely woman is considered stylish.
I... I'm stunned. I thought you were kidding. What the holy hell, Lifetime?
Yep, you're a sociopath.
It really is! I wish they'd just can Doug Barry.
This pregnant woman will be there!! I was in an article in last Sunday's Irish Daily Mail talking about my experience that was similar to Savita's back in January with twins. The girls didn't survive, but I did. But I was forced to endure 63 hours of the most intense pain of my life because assisting their preterm…
YES! This! This pregnant lady in Ireland thanks you for clearing that up! I'm proud of Mr. Halapanavar's resolve. He's like a lion fighting for his wife and the women of Ireland, and I'm SO very grateful to him.
Ignore this religious zealot troll.
What marvingirly said, bit also the clinic in NI only performs abortion up to 9 weeks, after that it's illegal. Savita was at 17 weeks so she would have been turned away there, as well. And the 9-week clinic in NI is a complete joke, as many women don't even know they're pregnant before such an early time as 9 weeks.
Absolutely. And it happens in smaller scales as well. Last January, I had twins that came early (due to the hospital's incompetence, but that's ANOTHER story). They were born at 23 weeks and 5 days, just 2 days short of technical viability outside the womb. Because of this archaic law I laboured for *63 HOURS*…
She died an agonizing death and was in no state to walk, let alone run for the border. You're right that she had nothing to lose by trying, but unfortunately the type of infection she had made it impossible even to try. Also, she was at 17 weeks and would have been turned away in the north, where it is only legal up…
She has a really distracting underbite that makes it hard for me to focus on her acting.
Doug Barry is a horrible writer.
No kidding. Doug Barry is the LAST person who should be writing science articles. His writing style and idea of whimsy is a terrible fit for clarity and accuracy.
Mean, but accurate!
LOL That's hilarious! I think Californian accents are just an amalgam of every annoying quirk of the rest of America's accents, wrapped up in vocal fry. It just sounds so grating and uneducated to my ear!
Um, I think you've just been brainwashed by most of the entertainment being filmed in California. Newscasters are taught to have a General American accent, which morphed from the mid-Atlantic East coast accent. Westerners are more clipped like Canadians, and have gobs of vocal fry.
I heart this so hard!
Welcome to another poorly written Doug Barry article.
