I think the environmental impact angle is the one to look at here

I like the idea of skateboard EVs with composite bodies that replicate classic designs.

Porsche (Porsche Classic) and Jaguar (Jaguar Classic Works) do this, don’t they? I mean, they’re not cheaper than a new car (far from it, in fact), which defeats Jason’s purpose entirely. But anyway.

Easy.

The Model S. There’s no plan to redesign the car: Tesla’s plate is too full with the pickup and Y so they won’t be getting to it for a loooong time. The early owners would probably be willing to drop the coin on having Tesla install the MCUv2 (especially given the bricking issue) and the newer drive motors on

Shit man, I’d want it. In fact, it’s pretty much the only way to get me to trade in my cars right now.

Cat does this with off road haul trucks. The way you make it work is you strip the vehicles down, refurbish any parts that need it.  Then you build the refurbished unit exactly like a new one, just using refurbished parts instead of new.  Cat even has laser welding machines that weld up the cylinder bores in the

Third party shops might be more interested. This is pretty much what Icon does now, but instead of producing breathtaking vehicles at breathtaking prices the goal would be to produce overhauled vehicles for less than the cost of new ones.

This would be a completely separate production line, apart from new vehicles I’d guess.

It would make paying $20k for a 10 year old Tacoma with 150k miles 0n it a lot more palatable, for one.

Except for us living in 3rd world country, solat panel cost an arm and a leg plus bits of your liver.

That would be an enormous waste of his talents. But the next president would be wise to meet with him once in a while.

Nah, I don’t want him to get distracted.

He’s too smart to take the job. Besides being ineligible.

Elon Musk for President.
