“Gearbox Publishing won’t support a marketplace that is unwilling to make these commitments and execute on them,” said the Gearbox spokesperson.

Whahahahahahahahahaha. Okay, now that that is out of the way, if Gearbox won’t do business with ‘shady people’ why is Pitchford still employed there?

This feels really icky and exploitative regardless of his other work. Sorry. And, there is really no way to tell if it was this or something else on the application that got him accepted, and it’s many times more likely that it was something else.

Ehh...different strokes, I suppose. I’d much prefer to simply have a higher capacity battery (a la the PowerCore+) and a dedicated wall charger or strip. I’ve personally had great luck with something like this with its integrated USB slots for when I need to charge stuff.

5,000 is a bit low compared to some of the other offerings in the PowerCore lineup. Lack of Quick Charge weakens it, too.

I’m on the fence about it being misleading. It also may just be my thought process but when I read the headline, my first thought was that he was screwed over by CDPR and/or WB (Witcher 3). But after reading the article it makes sense that he doesn’t get one cent from the games.

Considering Sapkowski’s disdain for the games, and previous comments, the headline seems a little misleading. He got paid upfront, and even demanded a lump sum instead of being cut in on the backend.

This isn’t someone being screwed over, this is someone being shortsighted and pigheaded.

I empathize with the spirit of the article but some small voice in my head parroted the title back as, “someone, somewhere on the internet said something” and I cringed. There is never any shortage of people looking to be outraged about something... and this is pretty low hanging fruit.

The horse can’t be dead if the game isn’t even really out yet.

Casey Affleck was brilliant in Manchester by the Sea and absolutely deserved his Oscar. I don’t know where I would draw the line at not seeing great art because of the conduct of the artist, but to me at least, Casey Affleck didn’t cross that line.

“You guys” is used all the time to refer to a group of people, at least in the midwest. If you’re seriously taking offense to its usage here, that’s a problem.

They warp. The stupid DVDs that have cases like that end up bending inwards. That or the cover gets easily torn. Looking at that 3DS case, someone could easily punch holes in the cover. It doesn’t take much to tear it, the plastic wrap doesn’t offer much resistance.

They were trash. God, you snowflakes need to defend everything don’t you. Thanks for the laugh though.

The gaming gods say no. You will buy your physical content sans accoutrements. Don’t like it? Well, for $20-$60 more they will gladly charge you for cheap trinkets, and maybe a map that would have been packed in with a manual containing lore and concept art. At least Bethesda and R* still give us maps in the standard

I keep care of my games very well. If you worked at a game store when those things were at the height of their popularity you would have seen how flimsy they were.

This is the worst misuse of money i have ever seen. You lost money on this transaction, just eat breakfast at home and save yourself the money.

The timer is why I do not care for these games (or any game with a timer for that matter). I prefer to take my time and explore games fully at my leisure and not feel rushed

There’s nothing “micro” about spending $1000 and still (in essence) not having access to the complete game. The game (like so many games of its ilk) is a scam, and it’s a scam from a company that is not a struggling new indie developer. Don’t give Nintendo a dime for this garbage.
