It needs to be mentioned that if you have a Canon point-n-shoot, CHDK will give you an insane level of control over your camera, and includes features that most DSLR's don't have, like motion detection, time lapse, and USB remote control.

Case in point: From a fresh install of Vista (no service packs) to fully updated + apps + drivers took over 4 hours to do its thing, but only about 5 minutes of my time; everything was automated.

I haven't tried this yet, but, for bulk driver updates, I keep Driverpacks Solution on a USB drive (This + this - an excellent high-speed storage solution, even if way too easy to lose. :grin: ), along with WSUSOffline, my Ninite Essentials, PortableApps Suite, and NDN file manager.
