As long as she can nail that stutter, Hollywood and America will be okay with it.
Basically, I wish I were wonkier. Zero K was quite good btw!
Has anyone that Isn't a total math wonk finished Goedel Escher Bach? I have 2 friends that are wonks and totally swear by it! I love love reading the Bach and Escher stuff but then a LOT of it zings swiftly overhead. Should I push on?
Tho I respect them, I've never quite 'listened' to them… PBS played a show of theirs from like 1997 and it was kind of funny/sad. Barry basically sang like Towlie, yep, THat Towlie. Picture it… Yep. I suppose he Always kinda sang like Towlie, but Especially in 97.
I know. He made me really appreciate boredom actually. I never really think to myself, 'I'm bored', but I've certainly been it, bored. Finding transcendence thru it?…that's another new step in writing for me. 'American Usage' is definitely one of my favorites. I'm gnna read it again soon. I love him.
Yep. I absolutely loved it. Definitely not as satisfying as IJ for Several reasons, but it was definitely something that he and ONLY he could've written. Just extremely bittersweet.
Serio-comical( he informed me of all those (io-ial) things. Butya, same here on that and I'm glad you feel the same. Let's read it again!
Is a part of Ramadan going around and acting like a fucking small dicked dick? Lighten up maniacs! It's life and life only.
Yes me, I will be you. But Ya, both 1 of a kind kind of movies. The best sense of auteured…
I have recommended Infinite Jest to about 15 people over the years and All but 1 laughed forever in my face. The one who read it now has it at the top of their list. I since have stopped recommending it because it started to hurt. Butya, DFW had the ability to get into and take over my thinking. Insanely, I might…
Yep! The Master and Primer are top 5rs for me. Can't wait to see what Carruth has next.
Hmmm. I want to see a Black Nativity 2- Still Birthing. Glover can stay though…
This show has now squandered its chance of being truly great in the long run… They got greedy by slowing EVERYthing down just to slog it out a couple more seasons. I can't imagine rewatching the last 3 seasons. Now it's primarily just 2 people in a dark quiet room having some overly dramatic expositional dialogue… …
I took Gilfoyle's "friend" to be a Lyft driver. Only basing that on him saying, 'thanks for the lift!' He accentuated lift tho…. That's all I got on that tho.
Yeah. The show is in a minor rut now. Up or down from here. It has the problems that pretty much every hbo show has. Once anything promising or positive in general happens, predictably, by now, something detrimental happens. All the time. Game reeks of it too.
Yep. That. I remember renting it from BB like 10 years ago. Ahhh. Maybe it was decent and I don't remember a thing about it. Maybe. Might just give Wonder Boys another go to. Still tho, love me some ROTNs!
Sorry AVClub. Wrong again. Just rewatched ROTN recently after a lonnnnng time and it is much funnier than that. One of the funniest movies of the 80's, at least! Wonders Boys has a Leaving? Providence vibe to it. Pretty weak!
Yeeks. I'm guesing that's 3rd episode material. Luke Wilson cannot lead a show. He's sub-Richie and he always seems perplexed to be acting in something. Can't wait!
This has a soft Vinyl vibe to it….and that's not a good thing, of course.
