I have no idea who was at fault what with me being 3000 miles away and all, but I do have one question: Is this a story because it is a celebrity or because it is Uber?

That was not at all my intent. I am no better than anyone else. I thought the words were clear - violence is never casual...or absurd. I never claimed anyone was okay with violence and apologize if my words created that impression. I simply stated my opinion of the words used. And, you have stated your opinion of my…
For me, “casual violence” is a contradiction in terms. As sadly common as violence has gotten, I never view violence as casual. It is always abhorrent.
Thank you! Today was already headed down Misery Lane, and then this popped up. Made my day!
We’re going to miss him calmly getting things done.
Thanks! Same to you!!
I don’t agree that calling out assholes is more uplifting, but I respect that you see it that way. If this is our entire disagreement on this, then it is a good day!
Glad to be of service. Happy Holidays!
Fair enough.
“I’m so done with this country right now.”
Then let’s see it or hear it. We have had this teased at us for months, and not once have we heard or seen it. I have a hard time accepting that these tapes exist since I find it almost impossible that they would not have leaked in this - the year of the leaky hack.
Wouldn’t it have been easier and possibly more uplifting to publish the very short list of men who took responsibility for their bullshit? I realize it would be a short article, but we kind of already know who the assholes are.
Thanks for the link correction. I thought I had the link to page one.

It was not judicial misconduct. It was human misconduct.
“I wish there were reporters saying “the hell with this, I’m going to publish what I find out at these ‘casual’ meetings, because the public has the right to know what they voted for” —?”
I can see that there is no way you are ever going to accept that this is not an unusual occurrence. President Obama has these regularly. As did Presidents Bush and Clinton. As did their respective press secretaries. Hillary and Podesta had a bevy of these while she was pointedly not doing press conferences.
“Yet has it not occurred to you that one of the primary reasons people aren’t focussing on the civil rights threats posed by this new administration is because reporters aren’t covering it because they’re too busy eating chips at Lago-del-Mar?”
Access counts because you cannot cover what you cannot see. The WH Press Corps has always had this relationship. A working relationship counts since without access for comments and information, the coverage is not accurate or balanced.
And (I thought of this while just now getting a fresh coffee) if this is a problem, what about the annual orgy of presidential boot licking called the White House Correspondent’s Dinner where the reporters tasked to cover the administration spend a ton to have a star-studded red carpet style event to HONOR the current…
