I never noticed anybody with machine guns when I flew through there, but I only transferred and my flight didn't get in until 10 pm. The security people there only had sidearms when I was having my bags scanned. The place was practically empty as I waited for my outgoing flight to Taiwan.

I wonder what the fine will be for that.

Don't know yet

It's a State-sponsored job. They have to offer it open to the public to apply.

Christ, it's like this site knows my entire life. I'm moving from South Carolina to Arizona in 3 weeks. I can't wait for that drive (seriously).

As someone who is originally from South Bend (I live in SEC country now and graduated from an SEC school) who HATES Notre Dame, give me one reason why I should be happy for this team that has nothing to do with ancient history or "tradition".

What is the most difficult part of your job that people who are not in the industry just don't understand?

Any activity worth doing is never going to be 100% safe. I agree that there should be age restrictions and approved programs for coaching (which some states have as a licensing requirement for coaching kids), but 14 is entirely too high of an age restriction. I think the key in this issue boils down to two things:

I haven't been to Bangkok myself, so I can't judge it.

After having lived in Taiwan, I experienced both the Taipei and Kaohsiung MRT's, and they are awesome. Both are immaculately clean, efficient, and favorable to every other form of transportation in the city(ies). In Kaohsiung, trains in all directions arrive every three minutes. Missing one is no big deal. What I

I don't know where the NFL's market research is coming from on the late game. The JAX/OAK game is scheduled in my area (southern SC), and you couldn't find a Jags fan here if your life depended on it. There are plenty of Pats/Jets fans though.

By 'less resources', I was referring to the above commenter who said that he would love to see what Mack Brown could do at a lower-tiered conference school. At a lower-ranked school, he would have less to work with, and would probably not win as often as he does at Texas.

I think they may have seen too many Phil Villapiano / Al Davis interviews on NFL Films specials in their day.

No mention of Purdue giving up 467 rushing yards to a miserable (all Big 10 teams are differing levels of miserable) Wisconsin team at home? That's pretty shameful.

Can't it be said that just about anybody on the planet would do worse at their job if they are given less resources to work with?

I grew up in South Bend (but I'm not Catholic and neither of my parents are from there, hence no ND fandom), but moved away in 2001. Trust me, it's an insufferable place to be when the Domers are winning. I only wish that I could have been there in 2007 during their 3-9 season.

As I see it, this is the truckers' own companies imposing the preventative measures, not the government. I have to abide my my employer's policies, and I see no difference between that and this. Also, I couldn't imagine what would happen to their insurance rates if they were to allow their drivers to use the 85mph

It's Log, It's Log,

The only reason why I might not think Tiger is that golf is a sport where you need a decent amount of money to play, where basketball and soccer can be played by anyone. Most of the world's population probably has probably never set foot on a golf course, and I would think that would hurt Tiger's popularity numbers.
