I’m not torn. If this particular pay inequity isn’t racist, but just a lead-vs-support thing, the next question is (as you suggested): Is it not racist that PoC are yet again relegated to supporting white leads?

From what I understand, Caan got paid as a lead while being contracted to not be in all of the episodes (I think it was 4 fewer per season) because he preferred to be in LA. As much as I think I’d prefer Hawaii to LA, I’d be pissed if I was getting paid less than someone who was showing up for fewer episodes.
