Unless your Surface has an infrared camera somehow, this doesn't apply to currently existing hardware (see the second paragraph).
Less standard medical measurements (which you are right, would be effective) and more the idea that they can improve response times, focus, and cognitive function. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biofeedba… for a very general idea.
How about a write-up on the other big "science" fad, biofeedback? NBA especially is hiring folks from bio-feedback companies as contract labor to be on their training teams and run biofeedback on players, prospects, GMs, Owners, etc. They are shooting for improved performance and thinking. Is there any credence to…
Should digital games be passed on to survivors? I think they absolutely should. In my own story, my father had hundreds of games on Steam before he passed two years ago. Gaming was one of his favorite passions, and (unfortunately very literally) one of the few things that we did together. I would love to be able to…
Trivial data can be a (not the) measure of intelligence as long as it's not divorced from the ability to apply said trivia. I think it's appreciation his diminished as we have pursued an extremely specialized educated workforce. A highly intelligent aerospace engineer doesn't need have a ton of general knowledge, but…
Will.i.Am has literally zero creative control though. Just imagine the insanity of Kanye being the creative director for Google. As much as Kate was slightly joking here, I share her vision for an insane new-wave-meets-high-fashion-meets-abstract creative philosophy for Google, piloted by Yeezy! I can't stand the guy,…
I have literally no argument against this. It sounds absolutely insane, but... why not? Someone get Google on the phone!
While what HAL said carries weight (but there is an argument to what degree the Abrahamic nomads were influenced by the Egyptians), in the Biblical tradition, Sunday is the first day of the week and God rested on Saturday. Early Christians began practicing the Sabbath on Sunday to correlate with the Resurrection of…
I feel like the internet is coming full circle with with these Halo videos. Is this 2007 again and I didn't realize it? There used to be so many montages and the like of Halo kills and ricochets. This video, while awesome, is literally only as new as the updated graphics from the MCC. Next thing you know, Kotaku is…
Please tell me that I'm not the only one to notice the bloody spider in the middle of the screen?! How am I supposed to focus on an awesome robot when I am staring death and destruction in the eye?!
"...the enigmatic Raina, who struggles with her transformation into something inhuman by the alien Obelisk..."
Any time! Thanks for the article!
"I'm not made of made, Nintendo!"
We are talking about one of the most controversial subjects in history, neither of us can claim absolute fact. There will always be scholars arguing on either side of the issue. That said for lack of time I'll address one or two of your points:
Matthew is actually considered one of, if not the, latest Gospel (from, if…
Hate to add to the disagreement, but the only scholars that believe the Gospels were not written by their named authors are the vocal minority that give them extremely late dates. Unless you mean literally, in which case yes, two or three of the books were possibly dictated to a scribe by the named author, which was…
As a Floridian who doesn't show up in Gawker stories, Universal + Bush Gardens > Disney World. Also, gator (it's delicious) and most of our beaches are awesome. Some good camping too. Plus the major cities usually have some redeeming cultural value.
How does one from the states get their Tenchi Muyo fix? I completely agree with you on the Tenchi love (I saw the ova's and movies in the 90's/00's - thanks Blockbuster/CN), but I have no clue how to get subs of any of the more recent stuff over here legally!
Are we any different? I'm sure that there are a hundred areas of my life where I am ill-informed. If stuff like this isn't explained, how will we learn it?
I'm not one to make presumptions like that. To paraphrase: all I know is how little I know. If I am capable of learning new things, I have to assume that the rest of us are as well. So maybe it won't work, but maybe it will. I cannot control what people choose to believe, but I lose nothing by trying to communicate.
