That’s why my favorite car trim is “90’s loaded”, which are analog enough to be simple to work on and have great driving dynamics (hydraulic steering, great clutch feel, throttle cable), while being modern enough to feel safe to drive daily and have convenient features (power windows/mirrors/locks, good A/C, OBDI/II).

Wow I totally skimmed past it and missed the flat plane part... I was too fixated on the V8 part and didn’t even think about cross plane vs flat plane. I need to resist commenting when it’s late! :|

Why would the V8 sound be gone?

The 1st gen X5 is easily my favorite, followed closely by the 2nd gen that you posted. All following generations just looked massive and blobby.

My general rule US that Japanese cars get RS Watanabes, Euro cars get Panasports, and American cars get Minilites. It’s a rough rule, but more often than correct when dealing with Japanese cars.

Except that not using a truck to full capacity often consists of somebody daily-driving a crew cab longbed by themselves. Sure, the driver feels superior with their high seating position and 3-4 tons of metal surrounding them! The problem is that everybody else on the road can barely see past you, whilst hoping to God…

Now yours sounds like a truck I can appreciate. Honest, hardworking, and not the size of a fucking aircraft carrier. Most new trucks are just incredibly stupid with their space management.

Whilst I agree with the Accord, no CR-V has ever topped the OG first gen.

But why does it need to be by Bluetooth? So you can activate the sports exhaust from your house? What benefit is that over a dial/switch/knob/button/drawstring?
