It infuriates me to no end how shittily we treat people who just want to come here and live their lives.

Why the fuck can’t we just let people move here, I’d like to know. There’s plenty of room and the net effect would probably even boost the economy a little. There’s no reason this should ever be a thing!
You think that’s bad? Many hospitals actually deport their undocumented patients back to their home country through a completely legal program.
Ellen is a great TV host and hilarious, and I’m glad she’s on TV as a daytime host.
Because the ladies do daytime television. They are only talking about late night. Ovaries stop being funny after 5pm when the mens come home from jobs and such.
I think this was a case where no matter what he said, he would lose, but he also was asked point blank, so couldn’t say nothing at all either. It’s not like he was the one who decided to host all of these late night shows and it’s not like any of the men who are hosting them now would have turned down such a great…
But the year is 2015, and we are just now anticipating the launch of a woman-hosted late night show.
I’m with you. Yes, his delivery was inartful, but his general point was a good one; women are a huge force in modern comedy and that’s exciting, and the old “why are there no women in comedy” questions are themselves pretty offensive. And he then acknowledged the medium’s failure to improve enough, pointed out it was…
That is true. Also, in terms of the late-night landscape, it seems as if we’ve gone backwards. Maybe you’re too young to remember this, but back in the 80s there was a late-night show that Joan Rivers hosted, and one that Arsenio Hall hosted. Granted it is still one woman and one African-American, but there weren’t as…
But he brought it up to dismiss concerns about the lack of women in comedy. If he had brought up those examples as a counterpoint to a statement like, “there are no good women working in comedy right now,” or “women aren’t that funny,” those would be great examples. But he’s using that to silence criticism of the late…
I used to have such pants feelings about Trevor Noah. I don’t think he’s a bad guy, just like lots of guys aren’t “bad guys,” they’re just complacent and unaware (assuming he understood the error of his earlier tweets) but that’s plenty enough to keep things the way they are. Sometimes it feels more maddening when men…
Thank you. I don’t care about her dumb face, I care about her dumb politics.
Suffrage?
Carly Fiorina:
OK. I had to read this over twice, but to make sure I understand this: Ole boy figures that his girlfriend is cheating with one of his co-workers, so he kills them both.
Sad that this is normal in the States. :(
It’s point in case. And bears are animals, men are human beings; that is a false analogy. You cannot be responsible for your own rape, period, full stop, end of story.
It’s very, very easy to say “well rapists gonna rape hahaha!”, but it’s so, so wrong.
“Boys will be boys” is always used as a “get out of jail free” situation for boys’ misbehavior, but “girls will be girls” is used as a way to ignore a woman’s statements. The former helps boys, the latter hurts women.
