Ice cream for me...

I just read the book for the first time this week and I’ve had nightmares, constant anxiety, etc.

*raises hand slowly* I’m going to Wyoming...

Yep. I have a cousin who doesn’t vote and when she was like lol I don’t care I mentioned how she should at least vote locally because, you know, you have two kids and one on the way, there’s a thing called the school board that will directly affect your children soon?

Thank you for this- I know what’s I’m doing this weekend now!

If you’re interested in knowing (at least partially) why that’s the case, there’s a really good book called Not In My Neighborhood that talks about how Baltimore became so racially segregated with redlining and blockbusting, etc.

Any other order is seriously just illogical. I still have people comment on it and I’m like uh how else do you organize history???

Yep, my grandfather was forced into retirement for this one

The Dear America series should basically be required reading, imo. It gave me so context to American history that either my education didn’t provide as thoroughly or to put what I was learning in a context I could relate to. I still have the entire collection (in chronological order, thank you) and lend them out to

I’m so relieved so many of these comments are against pillow-washing. Thank you for comforting me in my dirt.

I’ve come up with a list of various organizations to donate to, and every paycheck I’m just going down the list, contributing what I can. That’s how I’m handling the overwhelming amount of messed up all of this is while still trying to do as much impact as I am able.

So, does this apply for the assholes that block Planned Parenthood entrances while they protest?

They’re just upset because it took longer for them to organize and protest Obama with the Tea Party than it did for us to protest en masse against Trump

I use and adore PodCruncher. It has an initial 2.99 or 3.99 cost but it’s worth the one time payment!

The only comments I read on the regular on the WaPo site are the ones for the Capital Weather Gang’s posts. They’re delightfully weather-nerdy. All of the other ones follow your example to a T.

I’m reading Not In My Neighborhood, which chronicles how Baltimore’s neighborhoods were formed after decades of institutionalized racism. It’s fascinating and the events are not necessarily limited to Baltimore, although this book primarily discusses Baltimore.

Jax Jax! He saw his first bit of snow ever last week but didn’t care much since he can’t go outside, whoops.

I got pretty shit faced at my friend’s wedding as a bridesmaid and was doing shots with the best man who I had a crush on, proceeded to throw up (he disappeared), find him, offer my number, then started hysterically crying at the rejection and then I started texting my ex co dependent best friend. After a few months

Just typed out the word “menstruation” as many times as 140 characters would fit on twitter to send to Toomey
