So, on principle, I agree with the argument you’re making. Allowing the “feel” of a song to be copyrighted opens up a huge can of worms. Copyrighting is already a difficult thing to judge with creative works, because there is so much interpretation involved in evaluating the final work.

This is an increasingly popular opinion, but I’m not there yet, and I don’t think I’ll get there.
