This is such a huge problem where I live. That is, laws selectively enforced. I see cars every day with temp license plate that is long expired... the cop will only pull that person over if they are looking to do so. Mostly though it’s just ignored. Why will this be any different?

My state has the no texting and driving law. The main thing it does is people now put the phone in their lap. So I see eyelids in my rearview mirror at nearly every stoplight from the person looking down. Guess how well this works?

Fair point, I missed that.

And now I wish I hadn’t!

I admit I’ve never driven one, but I’ve never heard them as being amazing to drive. But I always thought they looked pretty nice (and agree the Firebird was a bit better). Well, nice on the outside anyway.

Agreed, one look at that wheel and shifter and I have no interest in other “modifications” that were made, nor learning about what abuse this poor car has been through.

This... very much this.

What? Are you honestly stating that used cars depreciate faster and more than new cars? Notwithstanding the past couple of odd years, this is one of the most inaccurate takes I’ve ever seen on this site. Aside from a few vehicles that hold values really well (example: Wrangler), new cars depreciate something like 30%

Accidentally roll over grass when they misjudged a curb... fixed that for you.

I mean... everything you said is dead on true. Yet, do you think it’s going to stop? Or, do you think it will continue and even get worse? (We both know that answer).

I think there is a big issue with people underwater though, and the interest rate doesn’t help there. I believe the average person keeps a car something like 8 years, but that still leaves a ton of people replacing cars much earlier. Heck, one reason these long loans became so popular was to “help out” a trade in that

I would think even if those are true (and I don’t have enough experience with these to know for sure), it’s still a deal to me. I just looked at 2008 GTIs to get a price comparison (and not like VWs are exactly known for reliability), and you are looking at mileage well over 100k to get under $7500 right now. So, to

A fairly recent car purchase for me was between the Mazda 6 and Acura TLX. (Which is where these fit, not against BMW/MB/etc...) The 6 was more premium and luxurious than the Acura in nearly every way.

I think Mazda has visions of survival. I mean, after all this time, do you think they can compete with Honda and Toyota? (I’ll help: the answer is no). So what are the chances of them going all the way up and competing with MB or BMW? (also no chance). So they are recognizing that they will never have the volumes/image

I don’t know if doing this is under 2 minutes is actually good or bad. I mean, professional security firm and expert hackers? Isn’t this kind of like saying, “The FBI secured the compound in 2 minutes”. I mean... isn’t that their job? And is that fast... slow?  If the headline was “KCyclone hacked the Tesla in 2

You bring up a good thought in your post. To me, this is a Nice Price (by a little, not a lot), but that’s comparing it to other S2000s. If I compare this to other cars around the price point? Well, nobody would ever buy one anymore... their prices are simply too high. It’s an interesting thought though, and I agree,

I have to argue with the “Plenty of them for sale”. Not because you can’t find an S2000 for sale, but one that is stock? That’s a damn near unicorn, at least at anything considered a reasonable cost. I agree with a lot of what you posted though... although I’d be a nice price if it passed an inspection. I think it’s

There have been a few themes that went from one line to another, but then it changes with the next redesign. I’m sure you can find some exceptions to my comment, but mostly their cars are different. Just look at the SUV line-up and if the H wasn’t on the grill, most people would have no idea they are related. (i.e.

I hadn’t thought of this, but could be. Wouldn’t this go the same for Kia though? (which has been much more consistent).

It’s better, although the grill is still a bit of a mess lower down. What I find odd is that Hyundai keeps making changes and trying different things, but when they have a well-received look, they then change it again. There is no Hyundai look or brand. Kia tries to at least give it’s cars some familiarity so they
